It was a miserable Sunday morning at French School Meadows.

Penn & Tylers Green FC played against a very good passing side this morning and it took the boys a good 20 to 25 minutes to get into the game. We lost possession too often and the midfield struggled to get into their stride.

The Youth Team worked hard to get a huge confident boost with a very good first half performance in the First Round of the Berks & Bucks Youth Under 18 Cup today. In the first half in particular the display was quite impressive against hard working and honest opposition.

Penn Rangers dominated the first half with some great passing and hard tackling. On the occasional break Marlow Royals looked dangerous but attacks were soon snuffled out by a solid back four of Adam Coles, Matt Hudson, George Tuck and Alex McEwan.

The U12 girls consolidated their unbeaten start to the season with an excellent 1-1 away draw with Marlow.  Coming off a draw and a win in their first two matches the girls entered the match full of confidence but also somewhat apprehensive given Marlow’s excellent recent record.

The R’s bagged the points today taking their league run to three wins from three.
The opening stages saw Wendover looking the stronger of the sides, taking the game straight to Penn, looking to win all their individual battles – while Penn looked slightly nervy on the ball.
