Wycome Wanderers Girls   3  -  o  PTGFC Girls U15

A tough fixture this one…..just fielding a bare 11 girls on a big & expected boggy pitch. However they did themselves proud in what was an evenly contested game despite the result.

Penn played the better football first half creating a number of chances that on another day would have seen them a couple of goals up by half time, but they could be happy enough at 0-0. Second half Wycombe came out with intent & a very open game developed with both teams knowing the importance of the first goal if there was to be one. Wycombe won a free kick just outside the area & was struck well into the far corner, giving Emma no chance.

Penn worked hard to try & even things up, but as the half progressed, they began to tire while Wycombe continued to rotate their subs. Wycombe started to take some control demanding some good keeping from Emma but with two quality strikes, they settled the encounter.
A good performance & this will need to be repeated next week when they travel to Milton Keynes for their League Cup fixture.

Well done Emma on POM & thanks to Andrew & his girls for playing in good spirit throughout.
