U11s come back to steal 11 goal thriller!

Bourne End 5 – 6  Penn and Tylers Green

The U11s came back to win a remarkable end to end game and move up to 3rd in the table.   Playing 4-4-2 and up the slope at Bourne End,  the team quickly got into their rythym and went 2 goals up with a flowing moving tucked away by Dan Pocock and a neat finish by Rhys Drysdale. Despite Bourne End hitting back we went into a 3-1 half time lead following a good and run and finish to Harry Taylor.

However this gave no indication of the drama to come in the second half.  After a couple of half time substitutions, a disasterous period of defending saw Bourne End score 4 unanswered goals over a 15 min period to give them a 5-3 lead.  But the team refused to give up and an excellent header from Will Kendall made it 5-4.  Harry Taylor then had a goal controversially disallowed for offside before Dan Pocock equalised from a cross field pass and he again popped up in the final minute to slide the ball into the net for a great win and to complete his hat-trick.

The win makes it 3 wins out of the last 4 league games and the U11s are also currently top of the Fairplay League.
