The Big Freeze

The current freeze has taken its toll this weekend with all senior and junior football suffering the scurge of frozen pitches. We hope all our managers, coaches, players and families enjoy a peaceful weekend and let’s all hope for a thaw by next week!

A last gasp equaliser from Ryan Upward saved Flackwell from suffering a second consecutive embarrassment at Wilks Park last night. After the humiliating 7-1 drubbing at Highworth on Saturday some may have considered a home game against Penn & Tylers Green FC as a perfect opportunity to bounce back and let the lower league opponents feel the backlash of such a demoralising defeat.

U11s come back to steal 11 goal thriller!

Bourne End 5 – 6  Penn and Tylers Green

The U11s came back to win a remarkable end to end game and move up to 3rd in the table.   Playing 4-4-2 and up the slope at Bourne End,  the team quickly got into their rythym and went 2 goals up with a flowing moving tucked away by Dan Pocock and a neat finish by Rhys Drysdale. Despite Bourne End hitting back we went into a 3-1 half time lead following a good and run and finish to Harry Taylor.

One stride forward, two steps back. Penn Rangers Under 12s were dominated during most of the first half. Mainly by Thame Youth’s number 9 and number 7. Sometimes we were caught flat footed defensively and on several occasions they simply dribbled passed our midfield and defensive back line leaving Jack Keating in goal to stop what he could.
