Player of the Match - Luke Butler

Chesham Athletics Colts  0 v  2  Penn Rangers Under 12s

An equally matched start took a turn when Penn Rangers were awarded a penalty within the first 10 minutes. A miss timed challenge in the box left Zach with an opportunity to go ahead early on.

However play resumed swiftly after the ball landed straight into the keeper’s arms. We showed pace throughout the game. Passing through the field of play. Tackling hard and attacking all the time with persistence and a never say die attitude.

Second half we came out yet again dominating the game across the pitch. With Jack in goal, across our defensive line, a packed midfield and repeated forward runs from our strikers. Pressure that eventually paid dividends with a goal from Alex just outside the 6 yard box. The second half again handed Penn Rangers another penalty shout because of a miss timed challenge. This time Matthew stepped forward, struck the ball hard, only to see it rebound off the cross bar. Another goal mouth scramble and the ball was cleared to safety. Then with 10 minutes to go, Ryan came on for Alex and added even more pace to our already goal hungry squad. Some nifty football from Ben and Zach out on the left, the ball crossed in low and Ryan was there for the tap in. 0-2 to Penn Rangers.

This was a well deserved win for the Rangers players. We had pace and stamina. We played some fantastic football. Passing at times, like a premiership club squad. Man of the match Luke Butler involved in just about every attacking formation. Plus starting our defensive play from his midfield position, his award was well deserved hard-work recognition. Pressure from Alex, Zach, Harry, Kane, Ben and Ryan made it difficult for Chesham to gain any sort of control. Gibbo, Matthew, Adam Coles and George continually blocked any sign of a run from Chesham. And Jack orchestrating instructions from his goal mouth ensured our continued unbeaten run.
