Mighty Rs crowned Champions!

Posted: April 3rd, 2011 by Fergus

The Mighty Rangers U14 became div 2 Champions today after Marlow pulled out of this weekends fixture, unable to field enough players.

Rangers were promoted last week with 24 points from 10 games & were looking for one more win from their last two fixtures to see them crowned div 2 champions but will instead pick up the points, after Marlow failed to fulfill the fixture today. Not the way Rangers want to win the title but after achieving back to back promotions & the results to show, the squad doesn’t need to justify their position at the summit of div 2. Rangers will now join their “sister” team next season, writing history for Penn & Tylers Green FC, having two teams in the top division for the first time & possibly a first in league history too.

Everyone of the boys has been fantastic this season & all played a part in the R’s achievements, which also included getting to the League Cup Quarters & a Mike Keen Semi. This season has seen the lads mature in their football, showing good attitude, strong determination to succeed & a “never say die” approach when things got a bit tough on the pitch. A massive well done lads – a proud achievement.

On behalf of the coaches, I would like to congratulate the Boss Simon Willlmott & thank him for all the time & passion he has put into the squad – same again next season mate !!!

Also thanks to parents/carers, family & friends for all your support – you are all part of the Mighty R’s.
