An Unsung Hero

Everyone knows there are three old bores at Penn & Tylers Green Football Club. One is the Chairman, one is the Secretary and one is the Vice Chairman. The last one mentioned is Andy Walker, our Vice Chairman, one of our unsung heroes.

Chief Litter Picker Andy Walker
He is a true clubman through and through, having managed a Penn & Tylers Green FC side from Mini Football all the way to Youth Team glory winning the Cup in his last season of Management.
During this time Andy has been involved in organising and assisting with a number of Penn & Tylers Green FC Six-Side-Festivals. Andy is a loyal committee member with his no nonsense attitude to approaching challenges in a simple and straight forward manner.
Andy is always there on Saturdays for the meet and great, regardless what the fixture – First Team, Reserves or A-Team, always a welcome face around the club house for the match officials, opposition, home players and of course the bar staff (Andy is known to like a bit of the old hop extract). Any League meetings…….Andy is there.

Keepeing French School Meadows tidy - Andy at his best
Of course French School Meadows would not be the same on a Saturday morning without our chief litter picker always (rightly) complaining about players’ attitude in relation to in what state to leave the dug outs after a game. This is what Grass Roots Football is all about, without the Andy Walkers there would be no football at this level.
