Cursed by the Ambulance

Reserves game versus Finchampstead abondoned

This is the 4th time in five weeks that games involving Penn & Tylers Green FC ended up with the ambulance services arriving on the scene. Today’s Reserves game against Finchampstead FC (like the one last week) had to be abandoned due to a player injury.

Injured Finchampstead Player

First our Ben Heathers in a Youth Team fixture at Prestwood, second our Jack Dean in a First Team fixture at Newbury, third our Howard Holmes in Reserve Team fixture against Rayners Lane last week and now the poor lad from Finchampstead in yesterday’s Reserve fixture.

Action before the game was abondoned

When we sent an e-mail to the Finchampstead Secretary expressing our best wishes for a speedy recovery to the Finchampstead player today their Secretary Nick Markham responded in saying “Andreas, many thanks for your mail, to update you he is in Wexham Park Hospital and is going to have an operation to pin his ankle either tomorrow or Monday, the doctors say he will be about six months in recovery from the injury. The poor chap has only been in the UK for a few weeks and is not very good with his English so his niece is staying with him in hospital until the operation. I want to pass on thanks to your managers, team and staff at Penn for all your help in this unfortunate accident, you were all brilliant”.

Let’s all hope he will recover as soon as possible.

We do not want to see the men and women in green again for a long time. They are doing a great job but understandably we had enough of them.
