Frustration at Chinnor

Chinnor 3 – Penn & Tylers Green FC 2

An early dangerous free kick from Aiden Taylor, which is well saved, is followed by the 1:0 to Chinnor after three minutes due to poor defending. The cross came from the right side and a header from six yards caused the damage. Not a good start.

Not our day today

Game did not settled early on with Chinnor breaking up play well. After a free kick to Chinnor in a dangerous position Matt Cannings holds on to the ball well. Now Penn & Tylers Green FC started to dominate the game.

Good work down the right for Penn & Tylers Green FC, Chris Hurst’s header across goal just goes wide. In the next attack Gary Crick gets in behind the Chinnor defence to the by line but the ball goes all the way across goal. It is all Penn & Tylers Green FC. Frustratingly the boys just cannot convert their many chances into goals playing against a strong wind.

At long last the long overdue equaliser after a long ball Rino Sepede controls the ball and takes on their number three and scores from close range. This is followed by a Jamie Hunt volley which their keeper saves for corner. From Aiden Taylor’s corner Dan Arnett’s header hits the bar.

Then totally against the run of play another poor piece of defending gives Chinnor their 2:1 half time lead. Again following from another cross from the right they had a free header which hit the crossbar and their striker tucked in the ball from the rebound.

Penn & Tylers Green FC's "Barmy Army"

The second half commenced with Penn & Tylers Green FC keeping on knocking at the door, just the final ball was missing. A good free kick from Aiden Taylor a header finds the keeper who saves comfortably. Gary Crick’s great through ball finds Chris Hurst in the box but their keeper and defender do enough.

This was followed by the move of the afternoon. Chris Hurst clips a great ball down the line, Rino Sepede crosses and James Louison heads in from six yards; great goal. Then a ball sits up nicely for Chris Hurst and a half volley from ends up in the keeper’s arms. When we should have made the game save with our winner, we decided for a third time in the game not to defend and sure enough we gifted the 3:2 to Chinnor.

Penn & Tylers Green FC don’t clear the ball and stood watching their number nine to hook the ball into the net. After that a good cross by Gary Crick led to a good save from Jamie Hunt’s header. This was followed by another great chance when after a free kick Dan Arnett somehow finds their keeper from three yards out.

It was clear after this chance that it was not going to be Penn & Tylers Green FC’s day. The game ended with a very frustrating defeat.
