Another good season for the Under 12s Girls

Under 12 Girls claim third spot (twice)!

Penn & Tylers Green FC under 12 Girls completed their league fixtures with a narrow defeat to Marlow United but have secured a creditable third place in the Bucks Girls Football League southern division. The girls can be proud of their competitiveness in what proved a very tough division with the league winners (Chesham United) and runners up (Marlow) being the two outstanding teams across the entire county. We were the only team all season (League and Cup) to take any points of Chesham and Marlow; excluding games against one another their combined record was 29 wins and 1 draw!

The Squad

We were left frustrated in the Cup as we missed out on a semi-final place by one point after finishing third in a group of six. The girls were left to rue our loss to second placed Ruislip Rangers where we could not convert our chances in an excellent performance. The highlights of the Cup campaign were a tremendous drawn game against northern league winners Vale Reds and a dramatic late win against City Belles. Continue reading…

Last game of the season ended in a draw at French School Meadows

Penn & Tylers Green FC 2 – Letcombe 2

This had end of season game written all over it. The sharpness of last week’s game was never quite there. Letcombe played well and looked like they wanted it more. They were sharper in their tackles and always got to any lose ball first. This did not mean that we did not have any chances but there were only a few of them.

Lining up against Letcombe

On a windy but sunny afternoon (will they ever get the forecast right?) is was not easy for either team to get the ball down and play some passing football. As I said at the beginning, this was a typical end of season game. No surprise then, that at half time is was all square with no goals in the match.

The second half at least had goals in it. The first one came for Penn & Tylers Green FC when Liam Ratcliffe, who came on for Sam Appleby in the second half, cut inside and let fly from the edge of the box. This was a very good gaol. Continue reading…

Hungerford Town FC Reserves 0 – Penn & Tylers Green FC 1

Americans remember the Alamo, and the British remember Rorke’s Drift, a South African outpost where 120 Welsh soldiers fought a pitched battle against 4,000 Zulu warriors in 1879. Penn & Tylers Green FC will remember the game at Hungerford Reserves for a long time. Continue reading…

Possible Cup Hat Trick?

Under 16s looking for Cup success

Under 15s looking for Cup success

Penn & Tylers Green FC is very proud of the fact that they have three teams in the League Cup Finals this season. This may well be a first and with two more teams narrowly missing out in the Semi-Finals (Under 15s Rangers and Under 11s) it was close to being five. We wish them luck and hope to be reporting good news after the finals. I hope anyone associated with Penn & Tylers Green FC will find the time to go along to the finals and support the teams.
