Back to back double winners

On a warm afternoon, and a decent large pitch at Thame United ASM Stadium, the under 15s started a little nervy. With Flackwell Heath playing five at the back, Penn & Tylers Green FC found it tricky to make a breakthrough. With two early injuries to striker Frank Andrews and winger James White, the coaches started to think it was going to be one of those afternoons. But slowly the Penn & Tylers Green FC midfield started to get the ball on the floor and take more of a hold on the game.

37 minutes in, Charlie Thompson made the breakthrough after great work out wide from Montel Adams, Charlie, with back to goal turned and fired home.

Collecting the Cup

1 – 0 at the break.

Surprisingly, Flackwell started the second half still with five at the back. But rather quickly, Penn & Tylers Green FC forced the opposition into a rethink. With James White patched up and back on getting on the end of a measured pass from James Harding to race down the right wing to fire a cross into the path of Charlie to grab his second goal.

Hat Trick Hero

Flackwell Heath changed to 4-4-2, but this played into Penn & Tylers Green FC s hand. More space started to appear, and with Coaches Lyndon and Steve using the rolling subs to the max to keep fresh legs coming, and so did the goals. Charlie finished off his hat trick, quickly followed by one from James (Wardy) Ward. Mason Wright kept his fine scoring form heading home the fifth

Final score: 5 – 0 and back to back double.
