Another double for Penn & Tylers Green FC

Under 16s win the league title in the last match of the season

Playing the final Junior Football match at Burnham Grammar School on a 4G pitch we knew this would help for a good game of football. Burnham were two points ahead of us in the league and knew a draw would be good enough to win the championship. We knew a win was the only result we had to achieve.

With an emotional pre-match team talk that appeared to get the boys focused on the game in hand the game started with both teams being a little nervous although the pitch helped both teams settle as an even playing surface always helps good footballers.

A brilliant performance from the whole team tonight and thoroughly deserved. The majority of the Burnham players were gracious in defeat and their management team were very complimentary in what is a tough time for them.

We fully congratulate the Under 16s on their amazing achievements and congratulate the management team led by Stuart Dickson and hope that all players will take up the next challenge of progressing through the Penn & Tylers Green FC youth team as part of the senior team set up next season and we look forward to welcoming all players to pre-season training which will be announced in due course.
