Penn & Tylers Green FC U13s have just completed a remarkable season

The Under 13s have won Division one of the Wycombe & South Bucks League going undefeated throughout the season and also won the Berks & Bucks under 13s County cup.

The team won 15 of their 16 league games for the season with just one draw and on their way to winning the county cup they won seven county cup games including the final. They have also just been voted Penn & Tylers Green F.C clubs Team of the season.

In total they played 26 games this season scoring 98 goals in all competitions conceding 28.

What is even more impressive is that they have achieved there success with a principle of always trying to play football with a passing game throughout the team and with a group of 17 boys for whom over two thirds of the squad started at the club at under 7s level.

Manager and Coach Ian Lancaster said “It has been a fantastic season for the boys and they should all feel extremely proud of their achievement. To win the league undefeated was a magnificent effort but to win the County cup at any level is an exceptional achievement and should not be underestimated. All the boys deserve a huge amount of praise for the effort and dedication for a great season not just for the matches won but also for their dedication in training. For me and the other coaches Nick Parry and Jez Hodges this is the reward for the teams’ hard work and continued commitment in trying to play football the right way. With Spain having just won another trophy and everyone saying this is how football should be played it is nice to think that we have also tried to get the boys and the team to play in a similar way!”
