Chesham United Ladies FC (U12)  5 – 2 Penn & Tylers Green FC (U12)

The girls missed a great opportunity to defeat run away league leaders and defending champions Chesham United in a well contested game in horrible wintry conditions. The match kicked off in freezing sleet and after the coach gave the defence their customary wake up call, Penn & Tylers Green FC took the initiative with midfield of Kate, Izzy and Kitty allowing Chesham no time on the ball and making strong driving runs of their own. When Chesham did attack Sophia was very assured in goal.

The deserved Break through came just before half time when Rosie played a lovely through ball to Bex who slotted coolly home. Unfortunately the girls were unable to consolidate the lead as they allowed Chesham to waltz through the middle of the Penn & Tylers Green FC defence from the kick off to equalise (a valuable lesson learned!). Nevertheless the girls could be very pleased with their efforts at half time. Continue reading…

Chairman’s apology to Penn & Tylers Green FC Girls Teams

Posted: December 7th, 2011 by Andreas

The Chairman apologises

Chairman Tony Hurst “humbly” writes:

“I wish to apologise unreservedly to all the Managers, Coaches and players of Penn & Tylers Green FC Girls teams for my error in omitting the details of the Girls season so far in the “Village Voice” magazine. This was entirely my fault, but not intentional. It was a serious administration error on my behalf, all to do with PC’s, pressing wrong buttons, etc., etc. Reasons, but not an excuse. I was brought up with the standards ringing in my ears whereby: If you mess up you: Firstly, apologise and secondly, don’t do it again. I have messed up, so this is my apology, so number one condition is hopefully completed and accepted. With regard to the second condition, I will promise you that the next edition of the village voice will include testimony to the great job you are all doing and recognising your achievements so far this season in flying the flag for girls football ,and hopefully maybe Women’s football in the future, at Penn & Tylers Green F.C.”

Many thanks & keep up the good work

Tony Hurst

U14 Girls – Top of the League

Posted: December 5th, 2011 by Andreas

Penn & Tylers Green FC U14 Girls grab the top spot

A 3-0 win at Chalfont Saints on Saturday saw Penn & Tylers Green FC Under 14 girls move to the top of the Bucks Girls Southern League. A great performance by the girls, which saw goals from Jemma, Jess and Hannah and solid performances from all the players. This achievement pays great credit to this squad of girls who were only formed at the start of the season through a merger with Holy Trinity.

With a very tight league and some tough fixtures ahead the girls still have some work to do but it is fantastic to see them competing with the bigger girls’ clubs and holding their own. Our thanks go to Darren and Daimo for their recent help at training and to our very loyal (and vocal) band of parent supporters.

Tony Hurst - PTGFC Chairman

Penn & Tylers Green First Team entertain newcomers & champions from the North Berks League Lambourn Sports in their first league match of the new season this Saturday the 13th (No superstitious paranoia

please) at French School Meadow Kick-Off 3pm.

Chairman Tony Hurst commented:

”Although some of the actual results in the friendly games appear to say otherwise, this had been a good, productive, hard pre –season for new manager John Sepede’s new look team, with good new young blood coming in to the club and so the team has been evolving as the new players have been brought into the various line-ups to gel with the established players, against some strong opposition. Training sessions have been well attended and the attitude and commitment of managers, coaches, players and staff has been fantastic.

U12 Girls – League Cup Final Report

PTGFC U12 Girls - League Cup Runners Up

The u12 girls put in a performance to be proud of in the Bucks Girls Football League Cup Final despite ending up on the wrong end of a 3-0 nil score line against an excellent Chesham United team. A large pitch and the hot weather ensured that the game was very open with a number of chances at either end. Penn were unfortunate in the first half in particular when two excellent cross shots from Caitlyn narrowly missed both the goal and the onrushing Lisa at the far post. However, Chesham’s excellent passing game and an unfortunate ricochet saw them take a 2-0 lead at half time.

PTGFC U12 Girls 1 – 1 Chalfont Saints

Penn u12 Girls came from a goal behind at half time to draw 1-1 with Chalfont Saints and maintain their unbeaten run in the Bucks Girls Football League. Chalfont started the match very brightly with some excellent passing pushing Penn back and it was no surprise when Chalfont took the lead midway through the first half from a well struck long range shot that somehow found its way through a crowded penalty area with the Penn keeper, Kate, perhaps unsighted.
