Penn Rangers U12s make semis at Flackwell Tournament

Posted: May 30th, 2011 by Fergus

Let’s put this is to some sort of perspective. Our second from bottom Division 5 boys beat the only other Division 5 side Stokenchurch 4-0.  All of the other teams we played including Marlow, Flackwell Heath and AFC Lightning, all play their regular football in the higher Booker Wholesale leagues. In total, out of 5 games we won 3, drew 1 and lost one. Accumulating an astounding 7 goals and 10 points overall. This then put us into the semi final play-offs against one of the two Holtspur sides. After a tough battle we eventually lost by a single goal to nil.  A fantastic achievement and a well deserved pat on the back for all the effort this season.

Alison Lambert of Waitrose Beaconsfield presents their cheque to Nigel Bowen of PTGFC

During the proceedings at the PTGFC Girls award ceremony we were delight to welcome one of our major sponsors for the recent Penn & Tylers Green Festival of Football.

Waitrose Beaconsfield have been unwavering in their support of the event over the past 4 years providing teas, coffees and other refreshments (including thousands of orange segments for players). We must pay special thanks this year as the team fought the elements over the two days of the festival, on both days having their tent blow away necessitating a full scale move into the clubhouse!
