PENN & TYLERS GREEN FC FIRST TEAM MAKE IT THREE OUT OF THREE

Milton United.jpgMIlton Units 2.jpg

Penn & Tylers Green FC took on Milton United on Saturday, who have transferred from Division one west this season, for their third league game of the season. Penn & Tylers Green FC dominated the game from start to finish against a young Milton United Team who will have better days I am sure. This was a game of two halves with a half time break as is the norm in football matches.

Penn & Tylers Green FC were dominant right from the start but without any finish forthcoming the spectators were getting a little anxious. However, with 30 minutes gone Casey Bocarro went on a good which resulted in him being brought down just outside the right-hand side of the penalty area. The resultant free kick was crying out for a left footed finish and Casey dusted himself down and did just that, smashing a wonderful shot to the goalkeepers right and into the far corner. Relief all round and the feeling now was that Penn & Tylers Green FC would increase the lead and so it came to pass that with 40 minutes on the clock that is exactly what happened when a measured through ball from Danny Jordan released Casey Bocarro to zoom in on goal and expertly lob the advancing goalkeeper from just outside the box. This was a class finish made to look easier than it probably was.

So,2-0, and that’s how it stayed until half time. Cue, start second half, script in temporary turmoil as almost immediately Milton were given a lifeline in the form a penalty when the referee judged that a Penn & Tylers Green FC player had been shirt pulling at a Milton corner. Penalty despatched ,2-1, game on.  Well, not really as this incident seemed to rile and galvanise Penn & Tylers Green FC and they stormed back with the required response and continued to dominate in all areas of the pitch. On 55 minutes, the unstoppable Casey Bocarro was, well actually, stopped! He was fouled and as it was in the box it was a penalty and George Weller made no mistake planting the kick low to the goalkeeper’s left and into the corner of the net. 3-1. Now you need to keep up as the goals came at regular intervals: 58 minutes - from an Adam Davies corner George Weller powered in a header for goal number 4. On 60 minutes James West came on for Danny Blanchard and Adam Harman came on for Anton Bradley and on 70 minutes Fred Tripp came on for George Weller. 70- 72 minutes – James West was becoming a handful and had two good opportunities well saved by the visiting goalkeeper. 79 minutes – Josh Fox, who was now steaming down the left wing at every opportunity and really giving the young Milton right back a torrid time whipped in a pinpoint cross which was met by Fred Tripp for goal number 5. Don’t blink now:

81 minutes – “Ditto” previous goal except the goalkeeper mad a good save from Fred Tripp’s first effort but he was on hand to slot in the rebound for goal number 6. 89 minutes – A precision Fred Tripp cross from inside the box was met with a thunderous header from Jamie West to get him off the mark for the season. Goal number 7. 90 minutes – A corner from Adam Davies was met at the near post by a Milton defender who, unfortunately for Milton but fortunate for Penn & Tylers Green FC, diverted the ball into his own net to complete a miserable afternoon for Milton United. Goal number 8. Soon afterwards the referee blew for time and Penn & Tylers Green FC were left to reflect on good afternoon’s endeavour and cement their place with the front runners so far, this season. A goal difference of 16 after 3 games bears out a solid start to the season. But my note of caution for this week is:” One swallow does not make a summer”  The crowd went to the bar happy and the two chickens who had taken over the “NIMBY KOP” end of French School Meadow, (we need a shorter ground name!!), and had kept the crowd amused with their raucous singing all afternoon waddled home looking content and hopefully they will tell their mates and swell the crowd even more at the next home match.” Cocka-doodle-do!!!!”

Finally, all at Penn & Tylers Green FC wish Milton United player Will Horton a speedy recovery from the serious ankle injury sustained near the end of the match. That’s it from French School Meadow FC and Wildlife Park until next time.
