Ladies progress in Berks & Bucks Cup

The ladies have had a successful start to their first ever season with a mid-table league position (after a win, a draw and a defeat to the league leaders) in the Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League Division 2 East and progress in the league cup. On Sunday they faced Division 2 North table toppers City Belles, who were protecting their 100% record at the start of the season, in the Berks & Bucks Cup. Penn & Tylers Green FC, proudly sporting their new colours for the first time this season, overturned an early 1-2 deficit to lead 4-2 at half time and run deserved out 5-3 winners at full time. Penn & Tylers Green FC’s scorers were: Laura Gutteridge with a fine first half hat trick, Leah Martin with a 35-yard screamer and Michelle Bailey who also found the goal from range. All in all, a great team performance against strong opposition with a special mention to our two stand-in goalkeepers Megan Payne and Paige Atkins.

The ladies travel to Camberley Town next week in the next round of the league cup hoping to continue their four-match unbeaten run.
