Feelings of a true Football Fan

Fabrice Muamba

“I was at the Tottenham game today and what happened has really shaken. For many years I have experienced all sorts in football and in life but what I saw today shook me to my core. To see a young player having to have CPR administered on the field of play was an experience I never want to go through again, the fact I am sending this at 11 at night  is because I can’t sleep.

Fabrice Muamba

When I saw the players looking the way they did you knew it was serious and when I saw the CPR being administered it was horrible, I turned to the people around me and said what they were doing and there faces dropped and the cold realisation of what was going on became so real. Continue reading…

Winners of the Berks & Bucks Cup after extra time

The Match Day Programme

This is another very proud moment in the long history of Penn & Tylers Green Football Club. In a very close cup final the Under 13s boys won the cup final against Windsor Youth 2:0 after extra time. On a very difficult pitch at Aylesbury FC’s ground the boys fought magnificently. The Club is very proud of the entire squad and the management team of Ian Lancaster, Steve Sanders, Nick Parry and Jez Hodges. A full match report will follow shortly.

The Winners

Well done and a big thank you to all the supporters who turned out to cheer on the team this afternoon.

Maidenhead United Reserves 3 – Penn & Tylers Green FC 1

The boys in blue and white played at York Road today, as stated on Maidenhead United’s website, the world’s oldest football ground used continuously by the same club.

Before kick off

The boys were confident and it all started so well. The kept pressing and pushing the opposition hard early on and in the 8th minute after neat interplay down the left side Rino Sepede cut inside and scored brilliantly into the far right corner of the goal by lobbing the keeper, who had no chance. City Belles Match Report – 9 March 2012

Solid in defence

I have been rather lax in writing match reports this season but could not miss the opportunity to congratulate all the girls on their fantastic performance yesterday.

It has been a frustrating couple of months for the girls. Despite competing well against some excellent opposition they have not received the rub of the green and the scores/results have not reflected their performances.

Hellenic League Supplementary Cup

Tytherington Rocks 2 – Penn & Tylers Green FC 0

Tytherington is a village in South Gloucestershire, England. The quarry to the west belongs to Hanson plc. The former Yate to Thornbury railway branch line passes nearby, with two bridges in the village and a tank engine near the quarry entrance as reminders of the railway.

The boys were confident

The line now ends at the quarry and is used for the transport of stone, but used to continue through a tunnel under the A38, to Thornbury. Tytherington had its own small station on the single track line: it opened in 1872 and closed to passengers in 1944. Continue reading…

Hook Norton Reserves 2 – Penn & Tylers Green Reserves 3

This was an excellent team performance on Tuesday night on a heavy sticky pitch by Penn & Tylers Green Reserves. The boys started brightly and took the lead via a penalty which Michael Benning scored. Penn & Tylers Green Reserves kept pressing and some good play ended up with a good passing move from which Tim Barber made it two nil. Continue reading…
